  • The recent hiking tragedy made me aware of the phenomenon here on Oahu known as "extreme hiking".  The video clips on YouTube of the trail known as the Bear Claw, where last weekend's tragedy took place, are both incredible and frightening. Easy to see how hikers can get into situations that can become life threatening - even for an experienced hiker, like last weekend.  Enjoy but please put your safety and that of others with you before the adrenalin rush.
