Da Rail Project...

Hi I am Kelenakai....I'm here to voice my opinion about the rail controversy. 

I am against the rail project as it seems to me it is only for a chosen few to use yet we all pay for it.  Sure, people will use it at first especially those who missed out on the Superferry...lol.  But seriously, after the novelty wears out they will find that it is more convenient to drive their cars again.  Everyone complains about the traffic problems, but when it comes down to it...driving your own car has it's advantages.  You don't have to wait for the bus/rail and how far is it from the rail station to where you work?  When you want to just leave and go somewhere...no need to wait for the rail or bus and who knows how far people work from these stops.

My thinking is...instead of spending all these billions of dollars on something only a few will use, why not fix all the roads that EVERYONE uses.  Here in Mililani the city planted these huge shade trees in the median and the roots are lifting up the asphalt and it is a very bumpy and hurtful ride.  Hurtful because the jolt makes a back problem worst!  All the roads are messed up!  We were at one time #1 with the worst traffic, but LA has taken over again, but the roads here are worst than the traffice problem!!  Pot holes everywhere and the way they patch them is useless...a little rain and they come right up.  It's so expensive to replace tires, struts, wheel alignments.  The Honda service people told me that on the 15,000 mi check up they check the struts for leaks because of the road conditions here.

Yes I am angry....angry that most of us won't ride the rail that we paid for because we don't live on the line or close to it.  I know my friends on the north shore will never ride the thing.  We're all saying why should we pay for something we'll never use? 

What a waste of our tax money!!
