Aloha all! Thank you for welcoming Palama Settlement onto KITV's u local - we hope to bring you the latest and greatest going on at Palama Settlement!
We ask you to help us spread the word about our Going Green Day at Palama Settlement!
Community members are invited to bring their recyclables and more to Palama Settlement in support of Going Green Day #18 on Saturday, November 10, from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. The special Going Green Day event promotes community clean-up to preserve natural resources, and divert waste from Honolulu’s landfills while supporting the local economy.
Funds raised from the community based Going Green event benefit Palama Settlement’s many programs that have served the low-income neighborhoods surrounding the unique campus since 1896.
Community members are invited to drop off recyclable waste behind the Palama Settlement Gymnasium this Saturday. Acceptable items include scrap metal, appliances, electronic equipment, HI-5 beverage containers, usable clothing and household items, and more. Both organizations are also accepting canned goods to support the Hawaii Food Bank. Curbside pick up is available, as is free towing of unwanted cars. For a complete list of acceptable items and for more information, visit www.PalamaSettlement.org or visit ‘Going Green’ on Facebook.
For more information, contact Palama’s Community Services Program at 848-2528 or email info@palamasettlement.org. Palama Settlement is located at 810 N. Vineyard Boulevard.
